I am currently sitting on the balcony of my hotel room where we are spending our final night in Vietnam. We’re in a small city on the Mekong river named Chau Doc. This is hotly contested land over the centuries. It’s placement on the river is valuable to both the vietnamese and the cambodians, but Vietnam has maintained primary control over it for about 200 years.
This morning was our last in long xuyen at the university we were staying with, and we traveled here to Chau Doc this afternoon so we can make our ferry up the river to phnom penh at 7 am. Seeing as it’s already very late here I’m going to call it a night now. Hopefully I’ll be able to share more with you about today soon, I just need a little time to process it all and I desperately need some sleep! Goodnight!
